Some airlines provide CrewApp through a special download link instead of the Google Play Store. Because the app is installed outside of Google Play, Android may show security prompts during installation.
Why this happens
When you install CrewApp using a special download link instead of the Google Play Store, Android treats it as an app from an unknown source. This is a built-in security feature designed to prevent unverified apps from installing automatically. You just need to allow the installation once, and Android will scan the app with Google Play Protect to confirm it is safe.
Steps to Install CrewApp on Android
Open the download link provided by your airline on your Android phone.
Tap Download to save the APK file.
Once the download finishes, tap the file to begin installation.
If you see a warning such as “Install blocked” or “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source”:
Tap Settings in the prompt.
Enable Allow from this source (this gives permission to install apps from the browser or file manager you’re using).
Return to the installation screen and continue.
Tap Install and wait for the process to complete.
After Installing CrewApp
Android will automatically scan the app with Google Play Protect to confirm it is safe.
Once installed, you can open CrewApp normally.
You only need to allow the “unknown sources” setting once per app source.
✅ Tip: For better security, disable Allow from this source again after installation.
